IACC and MPI Join Forces on Premium Events, Education and Content to Advance the Global Events Community

November 7, 2022

IACC, the global association representing the top 1% of small to mid-sized conference and meeting venues, has unveiled new details of its strategic partnership with MPI, the meeting and event industry’s largest global association.

Using shared knowledge and connected intelligence, the two organizations will work together to advance the global events community under this formalized alliance, which will also involve IACC engaging with MPI’s diverse and extensive network of more than 95,000 meeting and event professionals across 70 chapters to promote the world’s best-in-class meeting venues and bring together the brightest industry minds.

According to MPI officials, through this alliance, the two organizations will collaborate on in-person activations, thought leadership and education, including content and campaigns designed to reinforce equity, diversity, inclusion and wellness as key components to a successful sector.

“Over the past 50 years, MPI has been at the forefront of advancing the meeting and events industry and professionals within,” said Paul Van Deventer, president and CEO of MPI. “This formal alliance with IACC creates a strong platform for us to work together, build on and share their deep industry insights, collective community trust and wealth of robust resources, which, through shared collaboration, will ensure the promotion and growth of the industry.”

MPI and IACC will present a combined presence and educational offerings at signature events including the World Education Congress (WEC), MPI’s signature North American show, set for June 13-15, 2023 in Quintana Roo, Mexico, and European Meetings & Events Conference (EMEC), MPI’s signature European event taking place March 25-28, 2023 in Brighton, U.K.

Beyond in-person events, shared content offerings will include online learning platforms delivering rich resources such as blogs, collaborative research studies and webinars designed to bring new insights and visibility to the business events community with the goal of spurring positive change and growth.

“I am delighted to announce this new phase of an already long-standing global partnership between IACC and MPI,” said Mark Cooper, CEO of IACC. “Through connected intelligence, we will complement each other’s crucial work in advancing the industry and deliver additional benefits for our respective members.”

He continued, “We are proud of the work IACC has achieved and the opportunities we continue to deliver for our ever-growing membership. The alliance with MPI will allow us to build on that work and to support MPI’s membership and the wider industry as we drive further change and growth.”

Cooper added that the expanded partnership highlights IACC’s commitment to supporting every one of its 400 member venues with advanced research and resources as well as prime networking opportunities.
