Kimpton Opens New Saint George Hotel in Toronto

July 5, 2018

The Kimpton brand has expanded its footprint to Toronto.  The 14-story contemporary Kimpton Saint George hotel opened its doors on Jun. 19.  The new property features 188 guest rooms, including 20 suites and a Presidential Suite.

"We are thrilled to bring our uniquely personal and authentic boutique hotel experience to Toronto,” said Bertrand Mangeot, general manager of Kimpton Saint George.

The hotel features original works of art by Canadian artists. A hand-painted owl mural by renowned Toronto street artist, Birdo, graces the exterior of the property. In the reception area, an original hand-painted mural by artist Tisha Myles depicts a Toronto-inspired scene.

Guest amenities include complimentary morning coffee and tea service and evening social hour and free Wi-Fi for IHG Rewards Club members, along with all of Kimpton's signature offerings. The hotel also offers health wellness options including complimentary use of custom designed PUBLIC bikes, 24-hour access to the hotel's fitness centre and in-room yoga mats.

Saint George gives a nod to Toronto’s local music scene by equipping each of the hotel's suites with TEAC turntable systems and vinyl records from a variety of Canadian artists. Selections are curated by Kimpton's Director of Music, Lauren Bucherie, in collaboration with local record store Sonic Boom Records.

As with all Kimpton properties, Saint George is pet-friendly, welcoming four-legged guests with no additional fee or deposit.

Adjacent to the hotel and also accessible through Saint George's living room, The Fortunate Fox gastropub offers a selection of local craft beers and cocktails and diverse food options. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and caters the hotel's meetings and in-room dining.

“Whether our guests are here for a dose of local arts and culture, business meetings or to enjoy the city's dynamic culinary scene, the Saint George looks forward to offering that heartfelt Kimpton service and care our guests will come to know and love," said Mangeot.

Located on the ground floor, the hotel's meeting space is specifically designed for smaller events. The anterior 400 sq. ft. pre-function lounge has a dark design scheme meant to provide a calm, relaxing space for attendees. The 1,100 sq. ft. Peregrine Room offers natural lighting with layered window shutters for privacy and lighting control.

Eclectic furnishings, used in both spaces, are interchangeable for workshops, cocktail parties or business meetings. The Peregrine Room can hold up to 100 attendees theater style, 40 classroom style, or 96 for a reception.

Kimpton Saint George is located at 280 Bloor Street West between Huron and St. George Streets, 23 miles from Toronto Pearson International Airport.

For a limited time, Kimpton Saint George is offering special perks for booking a meeting at the property. Some restrictions apply. For more information on the property, meeting space and incentives, go HERE.
