CEMA and PCMA Collaborate to Extend Membership Reach and Education

January 8, 2020

The Corporate Event Marketing Association and PCMA are partnering to extend the reach and membership of their respective organizations. The two groups announced on Jan. 6 at PCMA Convening Leaders that they will work together to develop and share educational programming and content.

PCMA President and CEO Sherrif Karamat says that the main goal of the alliance is to elevate the education for both organizations.

“PCMA has a commitment to bringing its members access to leading edge education and content that helps them deliver economic and social transformation through business events,” said Karamat. “This strategic alliance with CEMA allows us to deliver more resources to our members while expanding our audience so we can continue to demonstrate how business events transform global economies and societies.”

CEMA will co-develop educational content for PCMA’s four annual signature events: Convening Leaders, EduCon, European Influencers Summit and Asia Pacific Annual Conference. In return, PCMA will contribute content for the annual CEMA Summit and CEMA Study Tours. The two organizations will also collaborate on webinars and will together determine additional opportunities for co-advancement.

This strategic alliance will help PCMA gain insights from and greater exposure to the corporate market. CEMA’s membership includes senior-level event marketers from well-known brands, many of which are leading-edge technology companies.

CEMA will benefit from the extended reach, awareness and resources that PCMA can provide with its extensive membership and 17 chapters throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The two organizations share the mission of business event advocacy and are committed to giving back to their members’ communities and those where they host their events. According to Karamat, the partnership will help both groups continue to demonstrate how business events transform global economies and societies.

“CEMA and PCMA share a vision for the advancement of event marketing as a vital element in the marketing stack, and each brand offers unique and complementary qualities and services to help event professionals learn and grow,” said Kimberley Gishler, CEMA’s president and CEO.

Gishler says that CEMA and PCMA will collaborate on new research as well as educational programming, networking, knowledge sharing and event experiences. The first endeavor will be a research project that will be rolled out later this month.

“We believe when it comes to event marketers, CEMA is the best,” Karamat says. “It’s the right fit and the right time to do this — together we’re going to do great things.”
